📖About My Channel📖
I’m Samita, a sustainable clothier and an educational. I work closely with eco textiles and artisan crafts.

I’m an alumnus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Latest Delhi, India. I actually have a Master’s degree in Fashion Design with honors from the Auckland University of Technology.

For my Master’s research project, I worked closely with Tongan Tapa cloth painters. I actually have worked with buying and fashion houses in the USA of America, Europe, Australasia, and the Middle East. I actually have dressed models, beauty queens, and film stars. I actually have been covered widely by print and visual media in Australia, Latest Zealand, Dubai, and India. I lecture at international conferences and write articles on fashion and textiles in Australia, Latest Zealand, and India. I used to be a finalist on the Style Pasifika Fashion Awards in Auckland for 2 successive years. For a decade, I used to be the Coordinator of Major Studies (Fashion and Costume Design) on the Academy of Design Australia (AoDA), Port Melbourne.

I felt there was a necessity for fashion to reinvent itself. Fast fashion, a polluting, wasteful, and unethical industry needed to get replaced with a process that addressed sustainability, ethics, and handmade. I began Deidaaecogifts online. Because the name suggests, Deidaaecogiftsonline sells unique gifts which might be eco, ethically made, and handcrafted. My label Deidaa was one among the 4 Australian fashion businesses chosen to showcase at World Boutique, Hong Kong.

I won the Silver Trophy in Woman in Sustainability category on the Women Changing the World Awards at Fairmont Hotel, UK in 2024.
I used to be a finalist within the Sustainability Champion of the 12 months category on the National Retail Awards, Australia, and within the Sustainability category on the Ausmumpreneur Awards in 2021. I used to be a finalist in three categories of the Ausmumpreneuer Awards – Fashion, Sustainability, and Multicultural Business Excellence. I won the silver trophy within the sustainability category.
I used to be a finalist within the Women of the 12 months Awards, organised by Kingston City Council in 2022 and 2023 and a finalist on the Sustainable Business Awards 2023 and 2024 (final results awaited), at Kingston City Council, Melbourne, Australia.
