It must be cultral bcus when I went to a African braider to pickup someone they had one more row to do. So I sat and waited. I saw a stylist who had washed her child hair. We would use protector and blowdry their hair to remove all the kanks before using a straightener. That person started without doing those steps and the child was in a lot of pain. Just bcus that is how your parents did your hair …doesn't mean you have too. Learn to do things easier it will make your process shorter and it won't pull out her hair or cause damage. Once you use a blowdryer, the hair will be straighter and you won't have to use such high heat on hair. Right now…you are fryer her hair and by the time she is 15 all those protective styles you have done to grow her hair out will be in vain. Word from the wise…it's alright to learn from others. ❤

What wrong with that pressing tool it seems kinda rough the way ur doing it. Plus hair holds heat when pressing so always cover up the neck and shoulders areas.
