Sephora Opening 260 More Stores in 2021, Including Sephora

Sephora is planning to open 260 stores in 2021, the sweetness retailer’s largest U.S. store expansion to this point. The brand new stores shall be a mixture of 60 freestanding Sephora stores and 200 Sephora at Kohl’s locations. In a press release, Sephora said the move indicates its “confidence” in brick-and-mortar retail, despite increases in e-commerce sales in the course of the pandemic. Jean-André Rougeot, Sephora Americas chief executive officer, recently said Sephora’s online sales in North America were nearing $3 billion. Recent freestanding Sephora locations have begun to open this month, with stores planned across the Pacific Northwest, Florida, Texas, Los Angeles and Nashville, Tenn. 4 Amyris’ Brands Including Biossance Sold at Auction –

4 of bankrupt Amyris’ beauty brands have been sold at auction to the best bidders. In accordance with court documents, skincare brand Biossance has been sold to online beauty retailer THG Beauty, formerly often called The Hut Group, for $20 million. THG owns online retailers including Cult Beauty and Lookfantastic, and types corresponding to Perricone MD and Espa. Centered around Amyris’ star ingredient, squalane, Biossance has long been considered the most effective brand on its roster and the almost certainly to search out a buyer. Birchbox Said to Be Weighing Options, Including Bankruptcy –

Birchbox Birchbox is weighing its options, including Chapter 11 bankruptcy, sources have told WWD. In a letter to creditors sent Tuesday, Birchbox’s parent company FemTec Health, which acquired the business last 12 months, said those owed money from Birchbox could opt into shares of FemTec as a substitute. “We consider, in the perfect interests of Birchbox and the whole FMTC family of corporations spanning the U.S. and Europe, a Chapter 11 or some equivalent structure could also be crucial,” the letter read. Birchbox was founded in 2010 by Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna as the unique beauty subscription box service, but the corporate has struggled lately. Morphe Owner Forma Brands Said Considering Options, Including Bankruptcy

Forma Brands, the parent company of Morphe, Lipstick Queen and Jaclyn Hill’s Jaclyn Cosmetics, is considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, sources confirmed. People acquainted with the method told WWD that such a move is into account, but stressed that nothing is for certain and that other options are on the table, including out of court agreements with creditors.  A spokesperson for Forma said: “Forma Brands is engaged in constructive discussions with our financial stakeholders regarding ways to strengthen the corporate financially and enable us to bolster our deal with the opportunities we see ahead for our brands.
