KATHLEEN

What does ‘metamorphosis’ mean to you?

For me, metamorphosis means a change. Mentally, but additionally in appearance/physically. Growth. Spiritual growth. You’ve to maintain working on yourself. Day by day. Physically and mentally you’ve to be in balance.

What does ‘beauty’ mean to you?

For me, beauty will not be only about appearance, it’s what you are feeling and radiate from inside. What I see as beauty, others may not see as beauty.

If you feel most beautiful?

When I even have had a great night’s sleep and I’m not wearing loads of make-up; I’m just the way in which I’m. And after a day within the sauna, I also feel reborn and exquisite.

What’s your every day beauty regime?

I still do little or no. I take care to do a great facial cleansing every morning and evening. I keep it easy and pure. Shea butter, rose water, vitamin E oil are amongst other products that I take advantage of day-after-day.

What type of challenges have you ever found together with your body as you’ve aged?

Not much. I even have had two children and can’t complain about what I seem like, to be honest. I might need to exercise a bit of more in order that I get the six-pack back. I even have taken on more feminine forms after giving birth. But not extremely.

How do you are feeling towards the wonder industry’s treatment around older people?

I believe the main target is simply too much on appearance. It’s possible you’ll get older in number/age, nevertheless it’s not good if you happen to can see it. It must all remain tight, young and youthful. Especially with women. And that disappoints me. Ageing is gorgeous. It’s a blessing. We are going to all change in appearance. All ages has its beauty.

TANJA

What does ‘metamorphosis’ mean to you?

A mix of blooming into life, attending to know oneself, rolling with the punches, developing one’s spiritual awareness and be kind and clear to everyone around you. Physically I might say: Own it and love yourself.

What does ‘beauty’ mean to you?

Living your authentic life to the fullest (checking out what you’re keen on to do) being kind to people, nature, animals. All of this makes an individual beautiful. Be, do, and wear regardless of the fuck you would like. To me, diversity and fusion is essentially the most exciting thing on this planet. Since it’s nature.

When do you are feeling most beautiful?

Once I’m in my zone: creating my art, making or listening to music, feeling like my full self and kissing with my love.

It’s quite simple, I just clean my face before bed and after I get up, under the shower with a face wash. I like moisturisers and I check out latest ones on a regular basis, hardly persist with any, although I even have to say I even have been loving Embryolisse for some time now. I do this with all my beauty products. Then I take advantage of sunscreen and something like a BB cream. I like a great full brow, so I take advantage of a tinted eyebrow gel and Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm for my cheeks and lips. Normally, I keep it pretty natural or put some mascara on.

What type of challenges have you ever found together with your body as you’ve aged?

I believe around 35 I actually began noticing my face steadily getting older. Which, at first I needed to get used to, but then I began to embrace it and now I like being my age. I’m actually 44 tomorrow! Just very comfortable to be healthy and alive. And in fact gravity is going on, I began doing pilates last yr and that helps me quite a bit with my strength and energy. I’m pleased with my body after having had two babies who’re the loves of my life.

How do you are feeling towards the wonder industry’s treatment around older people?

I’m glad to see that society is (slowly) catching up and realising that especially women over 35 ought to be represented in every single place. It’s been like a witch hunt how especially women are made to be scared to grow old and buy plenty of beauty products to slow it down. The main focus ought to be on taking excellent care of yourself, as a substitute of pushing the fear that old is bad. Glad to represent the 40+ people, I also take pride in having grown up within the 90s with all the good music, epic movies, the beginning of the Web and all that.

Beauty bypasses the top, cuts straight to the nervous system. As an illustration, seeing a Francis Bacon or a Caravaggio. Looking over the Aegean Sea. Sublimity. I scout beautiful young women for my agency. They should have that very special thing. And, great bone structure!

If you feel most beautiful?

I feel most beautiful after I’m comfortable and having fun. Beautiful clothes help. Nevertheless, being naked could be fun too 😉

What type of challenges have you ever found together with your body as you’ve aged?

It will not be really about challenges, I’ll say it has more to do about  ‘care’. I needed to learn the way to take more care of myself and my body as I realise, with time, how precious and fragile a body, and life, is.

How do you are feeling towards the wonder industry’s treatment around mature people?

Well, to begin, I even have to say that even this idea of ‘mature’ is barely disturbing to me. I do not likely feel relaxed with this contemporary concept that segments life and existence into two separated and opposite times.

The obsession of the wonder and fashion industry toward extreme youth is sort of morbid and have been systematically used against women bodies –  constructing a natural movement; ageing, an internal enemy. I do think that the imaginations and narrations of ageing and life evolutions shouldn’t be left to those business agendas.
