The biggest problem is in school bus funding, current lack of drivers, and the requirement that children who live within 2 miles of their school provide their own transport. That's why you usually see the longest lines of cars dropping off kids at elementary schools. Warning signs, lights, and crosssing guards are helpful but only work 100% of the time if "all" drivers respect them. Someone who hits and runs to another state would not.

If I were living there I'd make life sized signs and ask every neighbor in that neighborhood to post them on their lawns. So each time that man and his family leave and come home it's a constant reminder of the innocent life he took and had no regard for.

I hate to say this and before anyone toasts me for this, I’m for Lily but be realistic here folks!! Everyone is calling for change, change so another child doesn’t die and I agree with all of that except no one is calling for the change that will actually save another child, or any life for that matter!
Signs and lights are useless means of providing any safety for any one and will only be done to make all of you feel better! Change needs to come in the form of stricter punishments to deter drunk driving which is responsible here, but also much stiffer sentences if anyone is found to have been using an electronic device while under the operation of a motor vehicle!! The technology is out there to disable every electronic communication device while a motor vehicle is operating and it needs to be turned on in every new vehicle when it’s sold. Until folks feel the punishment outweighs the risk, then they will continue to drive while distracted and drive while drunk and they will continue to kill more innocent individuals each and every day but right now, there’s not a single leader within the boundaries of the United States that has the balls to step up and take form action that will finally start reducing traffic deaths. Nancy pelosi gets paid too many millions of dollars in kickbacks each year from alcohol manufacturers to continue to allow our citizens to be murdered and they serve a few months sentence and then they are back on the road. As long as she makes millions each year, she will continue to allow her husband to go out target shooting each weekend and the time may come next weekend or next month that her drunk a$$ husband will kill your loved one, then be free by time Christmas rolls around and you have to experience the first Christmas without your son or daughter!
Signs will never work until drivers pay attention!! They will never pay attention until the penalty is so severe it would really cause them to change their life to avoid getting into the situation!! That’s when our children will stop dying at the hands of these killers!!
