Sofi Chernyak doesn’t make filters — she builds worlds.
The MaquillAR Studio founder and artistic director is the type of visionary that may take a gold-packaging-encased Valdé Beauty lipstick and create from it a shimmering, oasis-inspired virtual landscape which manages to not only evoke the product’s physical appearance in an immersive way, but adds a female empowerment-focused story that may be explored and felt by anyone who comes across the Instagram filter.
Founded in 2021, MaquillAR combines Chernyak’s longtime experience as a makeup artist, her bachelor’s degree in art history and studio art, and unwavering resolve to create social media filters which are “creatively good,” or in other words, don’t depend on face-altering technology to make their mark.

Megan Thee Stallion and Law Roach got here together at The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo’s Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood dinner on Tuesday, with Stallion wearing a vintage designer piece and Roach making a twist on formalwear.
For the occasion, Stallion wore a two-piece satin gold ensemble, including a wide-leg pant and a bikini-style top with a gold chain-link neckline from Paco Rabanne’s spring 1997 collection recreated for her by the brand’s current creative director, Julien Dossena.

TECH SUSTAINABILITY: Maison du Dodo and its parent South Korean company Hyaloid Co. have launched in Milan a recent proprietary fashion tech platform that mixes social media, e-commerce and community.
The project was unveiled during a press conference that took place Thursday at Italian textile maker Vitale Barberis Canonico’s showroom, introduced by Hyaloid founder Shin Sang Hyun and chief executive officer Oh Sang Hyeon.
The platform will offer to brands, businesses, entities and personalities the likelihood to create their very own customized social and e-commerce application.
The platform can be available to all Hyaloid’s partner brands and influencers looking for to speak directly with consumers.
