Balmain Moves to London’s Mount Street, Near Simone Rocha
Courtesy MOUNT BALMAIN: Balmain has moved its London store, however it hasn’t gone far. The brand, which opened a flagship on South Audley Street in 2015, has moved across the corner to 94 Mount Street, with neighbors including Simone Rocha and Marni. Balmain’s recent, 1,077-square-foot store houses the ladies’s, men’s and accessories collections, and there's also a personal suite for VIP appointments. The shop soft launched earlier in March, with creative director Olivier Rousteing officially cutting the ribbon this week with a cocktail for patrons and a small, private dinner for friends and collaborators. Sephora Names Recent Global Chief Human Resources Officer –
PARIS — A change is afoot in Sephora’s global chief human resources officer position. Maria Farrow, who has held the role for 4 years, will retire and be succeeded by Sandra Rimbot, currently group director of talent management at parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, in accordance with an internal memo seen by WWD. The memo was signed jointly by Chris de Lapuente, present and chief executive officer of LVMH Selective Retailing, and Guillaume Motte, president and CEO of Sephora. High Fashion Tea: Prada Caffè Opens at Harrods
LONDON — It’s a Prada par-tea. The Italian luxury brand has opened a Prada Caffè at Harrods in Knightsbridge on the bottom floor of the department store. The brand’s mint green hue has been plastered everywhere in the space, which incorporates a balcony area for extra seating. The flooring follows the black-and-white checkered floors of the Prada boutique in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan with the floral bas reliefs taking inspiration from the brand’s international flagships. The tableware takes cues from ancient Celadon pottery, with pale blue Japanese porcelain utilized in the space. Prada Caffè at Harrods.
