It’s always nice to hear meteorologists giving some hope. I’m one of those storm followers also along the Gulf Coast, and it’s really sounded like it was gonna be another Harvey event but with the addition of storm surges amplified by those west Florida bays and even more sustained winds for a few days now.
The footage that I’ve seen so far is absolutely wild. I really hope people in the surge-affected areas took this as a serious threat and evacuated! Can’t really do much now except hope those who didn’t do so have survived and will rebuild—and I really do hope those areas on the west coast of Florida consider rebuilding with their houses on stilts instead of how they are now. Good luck to y’all and good luck to Orlandoans on getting thru this weirdmaggedon hurricane
