The only thing I disagree on is curly hair is wonderful. I fought with it most of my youth and finally decided to work with what I have. Curls (natural ones) are beautiful and youthful. There are many curl specialists now who know how to cut the many different curl types properly so that they are easily styled. I look much older if I straighten my hair.
It is so strange if I go to a normal hair salon they just want to straighten it.
Thankfully the tide has changed.
The “Curly Girl” book, by Lorraine Massey, is very informative.
I have a short curly bob. I don’t mind when it gets frizzy on humid days. It adds volume.

What a surprising video…It was very powerful. Every time I cut my hair short someone would say “do you like it” or “it will grow back”. I’m 63 and lost my job during the pandemic. I decided to retire. After 30 years of paying to have my hair colored and seldom happy with the result I had my last appointment 6 months ago. It’s growing in slowly. I have about 3” now of my natural ash with silver highlights. I love it! It makes the expensive brown with blonde highlights look red and yellow, brassy, damaged and gross. I would like to just cut it all off but I’m so afraid of the reaction and how I will style my newly short naturally wavy hair. I’m worried I will have to wear more makeup like you have on in the video. I wish you would do a video with someone who has transitioned to natural salt and pepper or white or silver. How should we do our makeup? Should we use different shampoo and products? Should we dress differently? Thank you for your words in this video. It sure has gotten me thinking.
