Parris Goebel is so far more than simply a
Parris Goebel doesn’t need to be called a choreographer. “I get quite sensitive when people put me in a box,” she explains. “I’m so far more than simply a dancer or a choreographer… I'm an artist. I'm a free spirit. I'm a creative. I'm a muse. I didn’t select this life, I used to be born this fashion.” Should you’re feeling somewhat inspired or empowered by Goebel immediately, well, that’s the purpose. Having dropped out of college at 15, getting booked to choreograph J.Lo’s world tour at 19, and dealing with the likes of Dior and Justin Bieber, now, at 29-years-old, the Recent Zealand native has just finished her most up-to-date gig with Rihanna (just a little show called Savage x...

Charli XCX’s latest music video celebrates love with otherworldly
Yesterday was a giant day for Charli XCX fans. Not only did the singer announce her third album, and first in five years, revealing the duvet and tracklist for the record coming September 13 but she also dropped the video for her latest single “Blame It On Your Love” featuring Lizzo. Directed by Bradley & Pablo, fresh off of Rosalia’s ode to nails “Aute Cuture,” the video opens as a take-off of Calvin Klein’s #MyCalvins campaign (“I evolved in 2023”), as an otherworldly forged of characters is introduced. There’s Karla and Anika the fertility nymphs, and Melissa and Clara the K9 filterheads (imagine the Master from Buffy but when dogs and never bats were the source of vampires). Then there’s Dee and Kai, angelic...

Model Charli Howard launches Squish Beauty with cute, inclusive
Model, writer and anti body-shaming activist Charli Howard, 28, has added one other string to her bow with the launch of Squish Beauty. The primary drop of playful cherry-shaped eye and cheek masks, flower-shaped pimples patches, and a transparent lip gloss is presented by a beautifully diverse group of models, including Munroe Bergdorf, Jillian Mercado and, after all, Charli herself. Inspired by her own experiences with sensitive skin as a teen, Charli got down to create a brand that focuses on embracing ‘flaws’ as a substitute of hiding them. “From day one, I wanted to make use of role models with real skin in my brand images – girls with pimples, girls with scars, girl with cellulite – but who've voices and...

Billie Eilish opens up about being sexualised and having
The media (read: men) have an issue with sexualising young girls in the general public eye. In her first speech as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma Watson detailed how she was sexualised by the press from the age of 14. When talking on the Women’s March last 12 months, Natalie Portman recounted how male critics would describe her “budding breasts” as a pre-teen actress and the local radio station that had a countdown to her 18th birthday. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would experience the identical countdown a couple of years later. This aspect of our culture is a component of the reasoning that goes into Billie Eilish’s now-signature baggy style. “I never want the world to know every part about me. I...
