I have been a fan of Balmain and Olivier for a while ( was particularly captivated by last season where skirts and dresses had faces molded into their fabrics). Some of the pieces, in this collection, reminded me of Alexandre Vautier. For this collection, my favorites were the zebra print bugle beaded dress and the red sequins mini dress. Magnifico. My least favorite were the clunky boots, which looked uncomfortable and seemed to cause the models considerable discomfort as they tried to walk. Some loved this collection while others seemed to hate it tremendously. In response, I can just say that some designers experience ebbs and flows in creativity. I have faith that next season's collection will be electrifying.
