“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” That is the only most typical query people ask us. There’s a protracted and rocky version but we’ll offer you the short one. We have now our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to begin her own business on the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did every thing in our power to support her. Ultimately, it is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He’s energy personified and has a real passion for developing the most effective skilled nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in just a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we’re an ideal team.
Today, greater than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is an expert nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the most effective quality products and we’ll show you find out how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that straightforward.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I have two questions for an upcoming video. One is I’d like to know how to do quilted/cushioned nails in acrylic because I can’t find a really good detailed video tutorial.
And the other question: is it ok to wash your hands thoroughly instead of just swipe? Like the water isn’t an issue if you’re dry?
Also bonus question: tips on what types of fabric to wear to make clean up easier after sanding to maximize perfect nail art finishes because lint and dust is a pain. Or is it that we should wear an apron? Maybe other tips on keeping dust under control. I will search your videos for that just in case. Thanks!

Great stuff, loved it! I like the booking app because I can see when my clients are "ready to buy/book" and it's never during business hours. I do check to see if it was done correctly. I'm the same way as a client, I like to book online when I'm ready to sit down and check my schedule. I also agree that gifts shouldn't be expected. I gave a travel sized cuticle oil bottle to my client who is a picker (pulls skin and scabs). She came to me with dried blood and puffy cuticles from picking at the dry skin and pulling hang nails…poor girl was desperate to get it under control. I know how hard a new habit can be, so getting the healthy habit as a gift made her also not want to let me down. She's a regular now with beautiful cuticles and is often showcased on my Instagram.

How do you find good nail techs who will accept 100% of their wages on the books? We want to open a salon, but I am told that techs want to be paid half in cash without it being reported. Where can we find techs who will accept fully-reported wages?

There are some booking apps that send a message to the tech for confirmation. When my clients book online, I receive a quick text from my app, “Hey Boss! This person just requested an appointment at this time and requires your approval. Respond yes and I’ll book it now.”
