BEST FOOT FORWARD: Bottega Veneta has opened a recent footwear atelier in Vigonza, between Padua and Venice, within the Riviera del Brenta, a storied Italian shoe production district.
The façade of the constructing is made with dark metal panels paying homage to the brand’s distinctive Intrecciato leather weaving.
Covering almost 59,000 square feet over three floors, the atelier houses offices, meeting and break rooms, a canteen, and an expansive terrace.
Each Bottega Veneta shoe will now be realized – from the design, development, research, quality control, prototyping, and final production stages – under the identical roof in Vigonza.
The positioning can be LEED certified, as is the corporate’s Montebello Vicentino headquarters in a restored Nineteenth-century villa ensconced in a park about 16 miles from Vicenza, within the Veneto region. Bottega Veneta’s own training school can be positioned within the villa.
“Since its foundation, Bottega Veneta has been deeply rooted within the culture, community, and unique traditions of the Veneto region,” stated chief executive officer Leo Rongone. “The craftsmanship that defines the home can only come from this territory, and we couldn’t have chosen a greater place than Vigonza, within the footwear district of the Riviera del Brenta, to accommodate our atelier.”
The atelier is a key step within the internalization process, continued Rongone, because it allows the corporate “to preserve and cultivate the abilities of our artisans and extend to shoes the creativity and artisan excellence that has distinguished our bags since 1966.”
For fall, creative director Matthieu Blazy presented a striking range of luggage and shoes, from woven leather thigh-high boots to iridescent, jellyfish-like clogs. Bottega Veneta is ready to stage a repeat show of its fall 2023 collection in Beijing on July 20.
The corporate can be investing in recent Milan headquarters at Palazzo San Fedele. Originally the positioning of the Manzoni theater, the constructing, which stands near the Duomo cathedral and the La Scala theater, was in-built 1870 and is being restored by Bottega Veneta. Blazy’s staged his first runway show for the brand on this location in February last yr.
