I remember my aunties/teachers generally older women in my life just randomly grabbing things that's of the resemblance of a thin stick (I remember my math teacher using a freakin straw😂) and just effortlessly pin their hair up like it's magic. Maybe it's one of the reason I always want to have long hair

Nah that is not secure at all (I meant the result in the clip not the method), once you start moving or walking, it will drop right away. I don't know why, chopsticks and metal material hold my hair better than plastic one. I never use pen to do it, feel like it gonna snap. My hair is too much and straight so the only style I can do with stick hair pin is put my hair in a bun then secure with it

You can also do the twist, then stick the hair stick down through it! Or twist a bun, and go up from underneath, then flip Al of if by turning the stick and pushing in back down. I don’t know how to put it into words, but you can do it with a pencil. 😂

Tbh chopsticks work better than hair sticks. They have the perfect length, width and taper. I only use it at home because I don't want to piss anyone off for using a chopstick! I know it's akin to using a fork in your hair, but I would also 10000% use a fork if it worked 😂 For me, the key is twisting your hair into a tight, circular bun, THEN sliding the pin through, sort of weaving it between the bun and the hair on your scalp, almost like sewing. Your bun will be VERY secure. Just don't do it too tightly!

A super secure way is to take your hair your hand like a ponytail, wrap the hair around the hand holding it up, and then wrap the rest around the starting point until you run out, then pull the loop resting on your hand to the other side of the bun made by the wrapping, and then shove the stick through the middle of the loop pick up some hair from the scalp and then push through the dense bundle of hair, it feels tight and lasts all day, looks pretty too
