Dazed Mix: Paramida | Dazed

Picture this: you’re in Berlin’s Panorama Bar and the sun is slowly rising, flooding the dancefloor with golden rays of sunshine. Proto-house blasts through the sound system, while looped vocals call party-goers to ‘move your body’ – there are good vibes all over the place. That is what experiencing a Paramida set appears like. The Berlin-based DJ, producer and Panorama Bar resident makes euphoric beats that take you thru peak time, straight through the night, and into those glowy mornings. It’s summertime clubbing at its finest: an evocative mix of nu-disco, trance and progressive house.

Her Dazed Mix builds on the identical summertime ethos, drawing on 80s grooves, Kraftwerk remixes, and a few high-energy techno for good measure. “I at all times imagine myself on a tropical beach because that is where I need to be,” she says. “It’s a giant expression of my current feelings in 90 minutes, supplying you with a glimpse into my current DJ sets. I’m really excited for the remainder of the summer because it is going to be quite a lot of fun.”

What are you listening to in the meanwhile?

Paramida: Immediately, I’m listening to the subsequent release on my label “Love On The Rocks” by French producer E-Talking, which is coming out in September. It’s a really special release for me because it’s been some time since anyone’s music has gotten me this excited. Aside from that I’ve been listening to the primary album of Miss Kittin and The Hacker again, it’s reminding me of after I first got into electronic music back within the day.

What are a few of your earliest memories of music? Have they influenced your sound in any respect?

Paramida: Once I was in kindergarten I had a Walkman and my mum would at all times prepare mixtapes for me with all of the 90s hits, including 2 Unlimited, Prince, Ital, Joe/Marky Mark and all the nice early 90s euro house hits. Due to my Mom, I used to be at all times the child with the best music at school at such a young age.

Who’re a few of your musical inspirations?

Paramida: Mariah Carey and Jeff Mills.

How would you describe the scene in Berlin? How has the town contributed to your sound?

Paramida: The scene in Berlin is kind of eclectic, constantly offering something for anyone. You’ll be able to spend years here travelling through scenes and different genres, everyone has such an incredibly unique taste in music and on their very own musical journey… I feel the “anything goes” mentality has also shaped my sound and what I play.

Your sets at all times feel so euphoric, what is the considering behind it?

Paramida: It’s a celebration, not a funeral.

What are a few of your latest web obsessions?

Paramida: Real Housewives worldwide, all of them. Discogs, AI and Chat GPT.

Tell us about your Dazed Mix.

Paramida: I had a vision. I at all times imagine myself on a tropical beach because that is where I need to be. The combination starts with a bumpy starting, but by some means I find my groove and provides it a little bit 80s flashback with a Remix of Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode adapted by TIGA. Then, it explodes into recent music from Sweely (upcoming LOTR release) and Alex Kassian. I transition into techno and high-energy break, before landing on Pads & Frogs by E-Talking. It’s a giant expression of my current feelings in 90 minutes, supplying you with a glimpse into my current DJ sets. I’m really excited for the remainder of the summer because it is going to be quite a lot of fun.
