I have an acrylates allergy I haven't gotten acrylic nails in years. Even the adhesives used for lash extensions is a no go for me. I see it as I'm saving myself a lot of money 😅

My daughter works as an OR nurse. The hospital has banned nurses from wearing gel manicures even though they have gloves on most of the time. They say bacteria can adhere to them. They recently did a random check by checking everyone with nail polish on by rubbing them with acetone. If your polish didn't come off with that, they knew it was gel and they were written up and sent home.

Hi Dr, recently I had my eyebrows threaded and I developed what seems like eczema very itchy, dry and red around the eyes and in-between. I've had it done many times before. Could it be the type of thread that was used this time around that caused this issue? What do you recommend to use?

Its incredibly common. When i worked at my parents salon while i was in school and people would come in saying the acrylic burned them. If its burning you're allergic. Id try to get them some alternative, but almost all of them would rather their skin fall off than not have a traditional full set.

Same with gel, and silk wraps. They are considered gentle, but you can still be allergic.
