“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” That is the only most typical query people ask us. There’s a protracted and rocky version but we’ll provide you with the short one. Now we have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start out her own business on the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did the whole lot in our power to support her. In the long run, this can be a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He’s energy personified and has a real passion for developing the most effective skilled nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a number of years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we’re an ideal team.

I love that you guys mentioned how Karen has her dust collector in the table. She recently posted pictures of it in the YN Discord, it looks so cool! I'm only a hobbiest, but if I ever happen to become a nail tech that's definitely how I would put the dust collector as well. Such a wonderful idea!

Essential needs for me? Hahaha!!! My must haves are my efile and cuticle bits/safety bits/sanding bands (I make magic with those!) a great cuticle pusher with a bladed end, cuticle nippers, my brushes(gotta have ‘em!), curing lamps, that perfect table and chairs, a great table light and a wrist assist(after years of fighting with my clients to get their hands in the right position for me to work on them and wrecking my body in the process, I finally found one that positions them perfectly for me every time. No more telling them to relax their hands or get closer. I just tell them this is where their hand needs to be for me to work on it.) my dust collector is essential to every service and I absolutely must have this one last important tool: YN and their ongoing education!!!

Its so important to sit/work in a way that is comfortable…I am looking to buy a desk…what width do you recommend? and which desk at IKEA?
YN dust collector is amazing! When I file without using the dust collector I find dust everywhere in my house!

The only time a nail tech hurt me was with a hand file. She smoothed the sidewalls with a fast, pulling action and cut right into me.
