Because most people today have guns within easy reach in open/concealed carry states any mistakes, misunderstandings or blunder can turn to tragedy. The constant news of shootings begets more shootings which in turn leads to more shootings as people become more on edge. Who has not walked out of a store and mistakenly tried to get into a vehicle that looked just like your own or similar. Add that sort of gun violence to intentional road rage, domestic and public disputes which use to involve fistfights and you have the kind of violent crime spikes we see everywhere now. I do not trust anyone and assume most people are armed. Normal looking and acting people can suddenly turn Rambo on your butt.

I have went up to a vehicle and attempted to enter just to find out it wasn’t mine, a very costly mistake. Now the shooter will have to live with their decision to take a human life. If you’re cold-blooded it may not even move you, if you have been targeted before by someone…it’s unfortunately the way we must now live. The system is broke and this is the reality of life all around us. I would have given a command to Stop trying to get in my car and then unwaveringly did the same thing. Thugs need no mercy!

The driver felt threatened enough to shoot and kill the student?…need to know more details..was the student armed? Did he lunge toward the driver? Was deadly force justified? Sounds sketchy,..my bet is charges will be filed and definitely a wrongful death lawsuit..

Something just doesn’t sound right about this story. Why would he take an Uber and then try to get into a car with someone in it for no reason? Sounds like maybe he went to meet someone and it could’ve actually been that person that shot him and things didn’t go as planned. Just doesn’t seem right that he would get a ride home only to get into a parked car.
