Property tax on a home should only need to be paid so many years, or to only be paid on original value. The "Happy Gilmore Grandma" house situation is very real for millions of retired elderly people on fixed incomes with their property tax skyrocketing for something they've owned for decades. Something is very very wrong with that.

Remember when we started the Lottery to help fund our educational system, or when the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave Hillsborough county school board millions. Let's just give them a student loan forgiveness and tax everyone else.

weird how these folks always say all we need to do is raise taxes for the next X amount of years but at the end of that period the tax doesn't revert back – they will complain the voter doesn't know or understand what they need – well now what the voters need is a government that seeks out ways to save funds not dream up new ways of spending funds – just because they collect 1 dollar in taxes doesn't have to correlate to spending the entire dollar

This guy really doesn't understand. It's not about teachers, it's about you and the failure of the school administration. You are overpaid! I am glad it was no, but that was too close. I hope someone is going to educate voters. Our school system has got to be changed. They are failing our students and the teachers. And yes there are also teachers who shouldn't be there or shouldn't get paid as much, but I honestly think that's a smaller issue
