A University of Tampa student was shot and killed outside his off-campus home early Saturday morning. He’s identified as 19-year-old Carson Senfield, a sophomore from Recent York.

Because most people today have guns within easy reach in open/concealed carry states any mistakes, misunderstandings or blunder can turn to tragedy. The constant news of shootings begets more shootings which in turn leads to more shootings as people become more on edge. Who has not walked out of a store and mistakenly tried to get into a vehicle that looked just like your own or similar. Add that sort of gun violence to intentional road rage, domestic and public disputes which use to involve fistfights and you have the kind of violent crime spikes we see everywhere now. I do not trust anyone and assume most people are armed. Normal looking and acting people can suddenly turn Rambo on your butt.

We might be missing more information. Why would you be riding another car when you just got back home to retire. Regardless, if it's just shooting somebody for opening the car door without warnings or any altercation and "fearing of life" must not be excused and ought to be punished severely. He was a great kid. So those who don't know him should not speculate. He was shot because of recklessness on the shooters part. He is a dear friend of a Friend and has never assaulted or even raised his voice at someone. A loving brother and son. No witnesses just the word of the shooter so investigate, investigate, investigate. One sided story that may not be accurate. So sad. A real loss. Died too young. Prayers.

He accidentally got into the wrong vehicle and was murdered for his appearance, a strong light skin male. You can not shoot anyone who opens your car door and claim “fear against ones life” without speaking a word to them. Reflexively shooting someone should always be met with charges
