I've only seen a couple replies so heya, ~18 year strong furry here, I grew up only really wanting to watch/read/embarassingly reenact anthro media [anything from warrior cats to brother bear to the goofy movie] and was [unknowingly] both queer and autistic, so when little kid me made a friend in school who had a fursuit head and told me all about her big sister and furries I lost my shit.
Now it's been part of my life for so long to draw dumb little cartoon animals that it's just kind of a core part of me that brings me a lot of joy; I sell art here and there as secondary income and I'm saving up for a suit. Personally, being an afab lesbian and a Native American, it also feels important to me to be present in the community as it's very very largely white cis men, and to use any platform I have to speak up about the shitty predatory people sneaking around the community and giving us our nasty reputation. Most of us are just here to make characters we love and have a good time within a space that's comfortable to be goofy/unmasked in, but doing so takes awareness and effort to make the shitty folks unwelcome.

First of all, love your work! Speaking on the furry comment around 10:20, it started a lot with stuff like Lion King or Madagascar as kids, getting this like fascination with talking animals, and after I saw Zootopia it was all over for me. There's something really freeing about being a silly animal man on the internet with my friends. I think it's a lot about identity, too, being able to choose aspects we like and forming a sort of persona (or fursona, har har) around that. I like looking at art of my guy and saying like "hey, that's me, that's a representation of who I am", etc etc. It's a very openly queer space too which always makes me feel safe to explore and experiment with who I am. It's fun!! Keep up the great work, can't wait to see you recreate this look in 2029! <3
