If a star changes something about their appearance, like updating their hair color or getting a tattoo, there’s not much conjecture involved. When hair goes from blonde to brown, like Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s recently did, not only is it obvious, it often comes with posts from the celebrity in query that confirm that change. But within the chaotic landscape that may be a social media comment section, fans and haters alike are sometimes greater than glad to openly speculate about perceived but unsubstantiated changes like cosmetic surgery — and while there’s nothing fallacious with undergoing cosmetic procedures, Hewitt is desirous to shut down those assumptions.
On Sunday, September 3, Hewitt took to her Instagram Stories to post a series of slides responding to individuals who have said she’s been looking different currently, whether which means often using filters or getting work done. Over the course of 5 photos with extremely appearance-altering filters, Hewitt writes with a knowing sense of sarcasm, “So many individuals said I look different. I look similar to at all times. Couldn’t look more natural. I woke up like this. Filters don’t change you that much.”
