Two weeks ago Kim Kardashian announced she was releasing make-up, including foundation, for the body. The news received a mixed response from followers who were divided between excitement and feelings that the inspiration sent a message that bodies aren’t adequate as they’re and want correcting, adding further pressure to people to look perfectly airbrushed on a regular basis.
Perhaps in an try and assuage this apprehension, Kim has been taking to social media platforms to show the assorted ways the inspiration will be used. First up was a video which sees the fact star using the inspiration on herself to cover the psoriasis on her legs. “I take advantage of this when I need to reinforce my skin tone or cover my psoriasis,” Kim writes within the caption. “I bruise easily and have veins and this has been my secret for over a decade. I’ve learned to live with and never be insecure of my psoriasis, but for days when I need to simply cover it up I take advantage of this Body Makeup.”
If that wasn’t enough to persuade people, yesterday Kim enlisted the help of her grandmother Mary Jo Campbell as her next test subject. “My grandma MJ asked me about my Body Makeup and wanted me to return over to assist cover her veins,” Kim writes within the 4 slide post which shows her applying the inspiration to the 84-year-old. “Oh my goodness, take a look at the difference,” MJ says within the video as Kim blends the inspiration into her arms. “It looks so significantly better — hides all of the purple.”
In the subsequent video, after setting the inspiration with some powder, Kim demonstrates how little the make-up transfers – a priority that some followers raised when the product was announced. Kim also addressed the subject in her caption.
“Let’s talk concerning the transfer. I’ve been using body makeup for over a decade now and in my experience you either get coverage that doesn’t transfer however it’s super dry and appears fake or its the other and really moisturizing but completely transfers. My latest @kkwbeauty Body Makeup is in between. In the event you let it dry before putting your clothes on it transfers way less and for those who set it with a translucent powder it hardly transfers in any respect. It was vital to maintain the skin looking flawless yet natural. Swipe to the third slide to see. Within the transfer video we didn’t have translucent powder but tried one in every of my pressed powders and that worked pretty good too!”
Finally, Kim takes the inspiration off with a make-up wipe (from Kylie Skin, after all) explaining how easily it comes off although MJ isn’t sure she wants that, saying “we should always leave it on endlessly!”
This will not be the primary time MJ has been involved in the wonder lines of her granddaughters. One in all Kylie’s very first lip kits, a real red, is called Mary Jo K for her grandmother.
