Individually, some nice garments, but the “let’s make the models ugly” styling is dreadful. Big early 80s hair and more of a sexy attitude would have helped. And of course, menswear, yuk.

If you're wondering why this collection is so weirdly uninspired Wonder no more. All the top-tier fashion houses did this this year for some weird reason. Overly large amount of black suits or white suits dowdy cutting in uninspired creations. The environments that they chose were also dowdy an uninspired and boring and sterile. Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Chloe, Givenchy, Dior, Moschino, even McQueen. They all did the same thing. This could only show that these people get their commands from on high (or down low). Depressing.

Boring. Just a mishmosh of looks not giving any style direction or sending any message. After Alber Elbaz, artistic director of all creative activities from 2002-2015, who brought the label back to life and was then fired for "creative differences" the company went through a parade of designers especially for the women's collections. Shanghai-based conglomerate Fosun International became the controlling stakeholder in Lanvin which then became Fosun Fashion Group then renamed Lanvin Group in October 2021 as the company pursues acquisitions to build a global portfolio of luxury brands. Wish them luck in today's very competitive fashion world.

I always find the comments interesting, I like to see which side I would fall with. I am sure that there are those who love this collection and would love to wear it. I can see Lanvin wants to go the Bottega Veneta's path. Not sure if it can result in a commercial impact, but for sure this is good for the aesthetics and the quality. What is needed is probably a key technique or element that helps scream Lanvin without the brand name, like the Bottega Veneta's green and its borderline attention to details.

Nice, but kind of boring. Lanvin Spring 2023 collection was one of my favorite shows last season. It felt special & fresh. This collection was not as interesting to me. Most of this collection appears to be things most of us probably have in our wardrobe now or can buy at Zara.
