Im so sorry Chris, but the baby isnt suffocating after the water breaks….theyre getting oxygen thru the umbilical cord. Theyre just open to infection after the water breaks. I had a scheduled c-section with my daughter bc she was breech, so i chose a c-section with my son then bc i was afraid of a uterine rupture. We didnt make it to schedule the c-section with him bc my water broke at 38 weeks to the day…labor day ironically lol. But my water broke at 3 am and at only 1 cm which is pretty rare….so i went to the hospital and they just had me hang out, monitored of course till the operating room staff came at 7 am. And even with my water breaking, and it being 4 hours after that, i only ever made it to 1.5 cm and had my c-section with no problems.

Hi student midwife here – I NEED Chris to know that just because mums water broke he wasn't suffocating because so long as that umbilical cord is still attached to the placenta, that was your oxygen lifeline. It's more a problem to do with increasing the risk of infection and the babys stress levels.

My 1st son my water broke at home after they sent me home from the hospital after them trying to induce me and it not working 🙃 my 2nd son was alot more natural, i was getting contractions so we went in and then i was trying to sleep and get some rest before pushing him out and my water broke and it woke me up lol

My water didn’t break til I was on the operating table for my C-section (breech baby). I heard and felt the pop 😳 So I was well into labor at that point, it wasn’t something that happened early on.

I have a little story about not putting your fingers down a toddlers throat. So I was around 3, eating oranges, loved them, then I took a bite that was too big and it got lodged in my throat. My dad was watching me, saw what happened and pretty quickly started doing what everyone is told you should do. Laying me over his lap, slapping my back to get it to dislodge, it was stuck. He didn't panic, but started to get real fuckin worried as I was turning red, purple, blue whatever, and this slice would NOT DISLODGE. And desperate times. He did what he knew every doctor, nurse, people had told him to never do, because if he didn't at least try I might not be here anymore. He put his fingers in my throat and yanked that shit out. It went well for me, might not for others. This is why I will always peel the membrane that is holding the little pockets of juice together in any fruit like mandarins and oranges before giving it to a little one

Baby CPR or infant CPR seems pointless for parents, especially mothers… mostly because it’s like a natural instinct when our babies are choking to help them.
My son was choking at a 4th of july party and my natural instinct was what is taught in CPR classes despite never taking a class. Not sure if it’s true for every parent but i was rather impressed with myself for just knowing what to do.
