At Allure, we actually care about what we placed on our skin — so it only is smart that we are only as meticulous when selecting products for our pets. (They’re our fur babies, in any case.) We added the “Best Shampoo/Conditioner for Dogs” category to our Better of Beauty Awards due to how we pause on the pet store and diligently scan the ingredient lists of products we would like to get for them. Our dogs’ skin and hair should be as nurtured as ours.
Across the time we began testing products for this category, my husband and I added a latest puppy to our family, making us a two-dog household. His name is Ollie and he’s a Shiba Inu puppy who was surrendered to a shelter and nervous about all the things — including baths.
When taking a look at the Paw Silky Smooth Pet Conditioner on my list of dog products to check, I paused. The conditioning treatment — which will be rinsed out during a shower or used as a leave-in — was something I didn’t think I needed for Ollie, especially because he whimpers when anything moist touches his skin. “He could never sit still long enough in a shower to let me condition him,” I believed, but when there was a time so as to add anything to his routine, it was now when he was still small and easier to administer in a bath.
My strategy the primary time I bathed him with it was to maneuver fast. I slathered him with shampoo when he was dry, quickly lathered it up with ReFa Fine Bubble S shower head on the high-quality mist setting, and rinsed. Then, I shut off the water and commenced massaging the Paw conditioner throughout his body.
