PARIS — Kao Corp. has signed an agreement to accumulate Australian sun care brand Bondi Sands, as the sweetness category heats up. The Japanese beauty giant and owner of brands including John Frieda, Jergens, Curéal and Bioré is making the acquisition of Bondi Sands Australia Pty. Ltd., and related Bondi Sands firms, through Kao’s wholly owned subsidiaries Kao Australia Pty. Ltd. and Kao USA Inc. Financial terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed. The deal dovetails with Kao’s technique to make skincare one in all its key growth drivers within the midterm. Permira Acquiring Majority Stake in Gruppo Florence
MILAN — Private equity firm Permira is acquiring a majority stake in Gruppo Florence from existing shareholders VAM Investments, Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, Italmobiliare, and Gruppo Florence’s entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs, the management team and VAM Investments will reinvest a good portion of their proceeds and can remain committed to the project. Fondo Italiano d’Investimento may also retain a minority stake. Attila Kiss will proceed to guide Gruppo Florence as chief executive officer and Francesco Trapani will retain his role as chairman.
