MILAN — Tod’s has partnered with Tim Walker on a recent project called “The Art of Craftsmanship” to be unveiled Wednesday during Milan Design Week.  “Italian lifestyle and exceptional craftsmanship are core values for Tod’s and having them interpreted by Tim Walker allows us to convey these values also to the young generations, speaking their language,” said Diego Della Valle, chairman and chief executive officer of Tod’s Group. British clothier Martine Rose is renewing her passion for the art of driving with a capsule collection with cult street brand Stüssy. Launching Friday, the cross-pollination features T-shirts with Stüssy’s classic “Stand Firm” text and a hoodie with a graphic treatment, in addition to a fake leopard fur steering wheel cover; driving gloves; an air freshener; a co-branded automotive mat set; a fringed flag, and a collaged windscreen. Knowing that May can’t come soon enough for Karl Lagerfeld fans and Met Gala gawkers alike, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has shared more details about The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” will bow within the museum’s Tisch Galleries on May 5 and can run through July 16. Because the name suggests, the show will trace the aesthetic and conceptual themes that continually surfaced in his collections from the ’50s up until his death in 2019. Visitors are supposed to get a multidimensional understanding of the late designer’s complex creative process and collaborative relationships with “premières d’atelier,” the seamstresses who realized his creations.
