Faherty to Open Madison Avenue Flagship on Latest York’s

The Faherty Brand will open a flagship store in Latest York this week at 1175 Madison Avenue, between 86th and 87th Streets, marking the brand’s seventh unit in the town. The three,864-square-foot store, which is able to occupy an area formerly filled by Williams-Sonoma, is not going to only feature women’s, men’s and youngsters’s apparel, but can even include a brand-run coffee shop scheduled to begin brewing its own coffee (Sun & Waves), together with serving teas and pastries, in early spring. The Faherty Brand, which was founded by twin brothers Alex and Mike Faherty in 2013, started off in menswear, but women’s now accounts for 30 percent of the general business. Recent York’s Fashion Avenue Turns 50

Fifty years ago, a part of Manhattan’s Seventh Avenue became Fashion Avenue. On Sept. 23, 1972, the portion of Seventh Avenue between twenty sixth and forty second Streets within the Garment District, got here to be known for all that was bringing it to life: fashion. Though the subtitled Fashion Avenue moniker was intended to be temporary at first — it was a part of a campaign to revitalize Recent York as a worldwide fashion city — the name stuck and has since remained synonymous with American fashion.
