NYX Cosmetics founder Toni Ko, who sold the corporate to L’Oréal in 2014 for a reported $500 million, is making her return to beauty with Bespoke Beauty Brands, an “incubator” partnering with influencers to launch area of interest beauty brands. “My life goal is to construct one other successful company,” said Ko, who’s based in Los Angeles. “…I got here here after I was 13 years old, a first-generation immigrant.” With parents within the cosmetics industry, in retail and later working as wholesalers, Ko was immersed within the business growing up and would find yourself working for them full-time. Michael Andrews Bespoke Acquires Angel Ramos Custom Tailor
Two of Recent York’s independent custom tailors are joining forces. Michael Andrews Bespoke (MAB), which touts itself as the town’s largest bespoke tailor, has acquired Angel Ramos/Recent York (ARNY), a luxury men’s brand known for its contemporary tackle classic custom tailoring. Terms weren't disclosed. Because of this of the acquisition, the 2 brands can be consolidated under a recent parent company, Marny LLC. The brands will operate independently under that umbrella and be led by Andrews, who will function chief executive officer. The creation of Marny leaves open the chance that other brands could also be added in the longer term which might make the most of shared resources and greater economies of scale. A Trademark Deal for Kent & Curwen, Plus Bespoke
Trademark Deal: Guangzhou-based fashion company Biem.L.Fdlkk Garment has purchased the worldwide trademark rights of Cerruti 1881 and Kent & Curwen, two brands whose owners have included Trinity Ltd. and Shandong Ruyi. The Chinese firm said it paid the equivalent of nearly $62.2 million for the worldwide trademark rights of Cerruti 1881, and nearly $41.5 million for the worldwide trademark of Kent & Curwen. The 2 brands were once owned by Trinity Ltd., as was Gieves & Hawkes, which was sold to Frasers Group last November. Trinity Ltd. was sold in 2017 by its owner, the Hong Kong-based sourcing giant Fung Group, to the now debt-laden Chinese fashion manufacturing giant Shandong Ruyi Technology Group.
