Kathy Ireland Debuts Skin Care Partnership With Luminess
Kathy Ireland has partnered with Luminess on a technology-focused offering of skincare products. The collaboration, dubbed “Kathy Ireland Beauty [Heart] Luminess,” will debut this month on kathyirelandbeauty.com. It entails Kathy Ireland-branded iterations of Luminess’ Kinetic Skin Toning Device and its accompanying Kinetic Skin Treatment Serum, along with Luminess’ Airbrush Skincare Device and its complementary serums. With scale on one hand and data on the opposite, P&G Beauty and Walmart Inc. have joined forces to create latest paradigms in brand incubation. The manufacturer — among the many world’s largest, with estimated beauty revenue of $14 billion in 2020 — has teamed with the world’s largest retailer on a genderless, Gen Z-focused hair care brand, called NOU. The name, which is an abbreviation for Next of Us, launched online with Walmart in August and is now rolling out to greater than 2,500 doors. Skincare is having a social media moment. Due namely to an overall increase in activated influencers throughout the category, skincare content has grown 16 percent year-over-year in volume, while views and engagement have grown 82 percent and 26 percent, respectively, per Traackr. “Without delay, mega-influencers are the highest performers across rising indie skincare brands,” said Therese Little, head of sales, Americas, at Traackr, noting this trend isn’t necessarily consistent across beauty.
