Chanel to Unveil Cruise Collection in Los Angeles in May
CALIFORNIA DREAMING: Add Chanel to the luxurious brands answering the siren call of California. The French luxury house announced on Saturday that it's going to unveil its cruise 2024 collection in Los Angeles on May 9. Chanel didn't specify the venue for the show, but noted that it presented the cruise 2008 collection designed by its late creative director Karl Lagerfeld inside Santa Monica airport. “This show is a chance for the home to have a good time its connections with the City of Angels,” it said in an announcement. Chanel said Monday it will hold a repeat show of its 2022-2023 Métiers d’Art collection on June 1 in Tokyo. The French luxury house made history on Dec. 6 as the primary European luxury brand to stage a fashion show in sub-Saharan Africa by unveiling its latest specialty craft-focused lineup in Dakar, Senegal. Attended by the likes of Pharrell Williams, Naomi Campbell, Whitney Peak, Nile Rodgers, Princess Caroline of Monaco and her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi, the 2022-2023 Chanel’s Métiers d’Art show was a part of a three-day cultural program within the Senegalese capital and “the place to begin for an ongoing exchange between the home and Senegal,” the brand noted in a press release.
