It’s a recent era for the Estée Lauder Cos. For years, the sweetness company has held off from launching any of its brands on the retail behemoth that's Amazon, but in a change of strategy, Clinique is debuting within the U.S. Amazon Premium Beauty store on Wednesday. Carcinogenic Benzene Present in Proactiv, CeraVe, Clinique Products

As consumers are increasingly conscientious about what they’re putting on their skin, a lab reported elevated levels of known carcinogen benzene in products from Proactiv, Clearasil, Clinique and CeraVe, amongst others. Independent laboratory Valisure has found elevated levels of cancer-causing benzene in a variety of pimples treatment products — and filed a petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on March 5. The petition is looking on the federal government agency to “issue a regulation, revise industry guidance and request a recall and suspend sales of benzoyl peroxide from the US market and take such other actions,” per the filing. Clinique, Mount Sinai Launch Dermatology Center for Sensitive Skin

Clinique is diving deeper into its dermatological roots. The Estée Lauder Cos.-owned skincare brand has made a philanthropic commitment of $5 million over seven years to determine the Mount Sinai-Clinique Healthy Skin Dermatology Centre with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. It should study how skin ages, skin allergies and inflammatory eczematous skin conditions, including eczema and make contact with dermatitis. Through investigating healthy skin, together with the skin of those with atopic dermatitis and other allergic skin disorders, the hope is that researchers may learn tips on how to significantly slow the visible signs of aging in all people in addition to in patients with eczema, who show signs of premature or accelerated aging. Fresh, Clinique and Maria Nila Are Bringing Pop-up Experiences

This weekend, Clinique will wrap its “Protect Your Glow” campaign in Latest York City’s SoHo, the ultimate stop of the brand’s Hydration Pop-up tour.
