Edward O’Sullivan, a highly respected stylist who worked with quite a few Hollywood celebrities and had deep fashion relationships, died April 27. He was 52. Slava Zaitsev, Staltwart of Russian Fashion, Dies at 85

Russian couturier Vyacheslav “Slava” Zaitsev, who went from leading Soviet designer to father of Russian couture, died on April 30 near Moscow at age 85. His death was revealed on Sunday by Russian media outlets and confirmed by long-term friend Evelina Khromtchenko. The designer had gone to the hospital earlier within the day attributable to abdominal discomfort and later died within the intensive care unit, in accordance with fashion editor and former model and friend Tatiana Sorokko. Dame Mary Quant, Promoter of the Miniskirt, Dies at 93

LONDON — Dame Mary Quant, accountable for liberating women’s fashion within the ‘50s and ‘60s along with her short hemlines and daring patterns, died Thursday at age 93. Amongst her many accomplishments, Quant is commonly credited with popularizing short skirts, dubbing them “mini,” and creating hotpants, a kind of short. Quant “died peacefully at home in Surrey, U.K., this morning,” her family said in an announcement to the PA news agency.
