“A Black Lady Sketch Show” Donates Entire Wardrobe To
Getty Images Shirley Raines posted on her Instagram a heartwarming video of her Los Angeles-based organization receiving a big donation from HBO’s recently canceled show, A Black Lady Sketch Show. Boxes of shoes, purses, wigs, lashes, and more were sent to Raines’ nonprofit Beauty 2 The Streetz. Actress Robin Thede, the show’s creator, orchestrated the donation.  Raine’s organization serves the unhoused women of Skid Row. Her Instagram account is filled with moments humanizing these women with compassion and meeting their needs for showers, clothing, makeup, and female products. OVS Donates to Emilia Romagna Region – WWD
Courtesy Image MORE HELP: After the widespread flooding within the Emilia Romagna region in Italy that caused at the least 14 deaths and left 1000's of individuals homeless, many brands have shown their support with donations to the affected populations. The most recent company to hitch the list is Italian apparel and retail chain OVS, which on Monday donated gift vouchers for the whole amount of 150,000 euros to the municipalities of Cesena, Faenza, Forlì and Ravenna, most impacted by the damages. Vouchers will be spent in OVS, Upim, Croff shops. Mugler Donates to Baltimore School for the Arts
MUGLER’S ART HAPPENING: Mugler is making a $50,000 donation to Baltimore School for the Arts as a part of the brand’s collaboration with singer and actress Willow Smith. The endowment will go toward a grant aimed toward helping construct the creative workforce’s next generation. Smith selected BSA for this project, which provides materials and academic resources for greater than 400 students there. BSA is the alma mater of Smith’s mother, actress, singer and producer Jada Pinkett Smith.
