Dove Is Popping Up in Latest York With Cocktails

Dove is coming to Dante. In celebration of its recent Plant Milk Cleansing Bars, the body care brand will take over Dante West Village in Latest York on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 to host a “Dove Deluxe Bar,” where consumers can take pleasure in cocktails and mocktails inspired by the 4 bar soaps in the gathering. Dove mixologist Renato Tonelli curated the drink recipes, crafting a daiquiri-style “Dreamy & Steamy” drink with rum, vodka and citric acid inspired by the Coconut Milk & Sugar Lychee bar; a whiskey Negroni “Shower Cap” drink inspired by the Oat Milk & Berry Brulee Plant Milk bar, and “Scent-sational Spritz” and “Bathtime Bubbles” drinks drawing from the Macadamia Milk & Willow Lavendar bar...

Dove Teams With Nike, Venus Williams for Latest Self

Dove’s Self Esteem Project is entering its next chapter. As a part of the long-standing body positivity campaign, Dove has teamed with activewear giant Nike and tennis legend Venus Williams to launch the “Body Confident Sport” online coaching program, which goals to assist young athletes construct body confidence and self-esteem. In line with research from Dove and Nike, low body confidence — which is usually exacerbated in a sports environment — is the most important driver of women dropping out of sports. Dove Report Says Beauty Standards Cost Economy $501 Billion

A recent report from Dove has quantified beauty ideals’ weight on the economy, to the tune of $806 billion. In line with the report, released Tuesday, appearance-based discrimination (an umbrella term for skin shade and body size) cost the U.S. $501 billion in 2019, and body dissatisfaction set the economy back $305 billion in the course of the same time period. They each affect a respective 66 million and 45 million individuals. Dove relied on S. Bryn Austin, a researcher on the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and Boston Children’s Hospital, in addition to a team of economists from Deloitte Access Economics.
