When Nneka Onuorah was first nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy, she didn’t even realize it. The director of Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls was in London, already knee-deep in one other major project — with Megan Thee Stallion no less– doing what she does best, “working always,” as she tells us. “I looked down at my text messages, and I saw all of those texts saying, ‘Congratulations. Congratulations lady!’ And I’m like, ‘On what?
