Aldo Group Inks Footwear Licensing Deals With Authentic’s Ted

The Aldo Group has inked two long-term licensing deals with Authentic Brands Group. Jonathan Frankel, president of Aldo Product Services on the Aldo Group, told FN, a sister publication of WWD, in an interview that the corporate has signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Authentic to design, produce and distribute Ted Baker footwear globally in addition to handbags across the U.S. and Canada. The primary collection managed under Aldo Group will launch in spring 2024 through Ted Baker’s direct channels, online and in stores in addition to at wholesale accounts worldwide. What’s more, Frankel said the Aldo Group will “work closely” with the London-based Ted Baker global design team to develop “premium” footwear and handbag collections that “preserve the brand’s unique design ethos.”...

Gucci’s Ultra-Luxe Private ‘Salon’ Store Concept Debuts in L.A.

MICHAEL BUCKNER/WWD Gucci has launched its first ultra-luxe Salon store concept in L.A., complete with fresh-off-the-red-carpet gowns. The 4,380-square-foot space is on the prime corner of Melrose Place and Melrose Avenue in an ivy-covered constructing that for years was occupied by Marc Jacobs. He first put the sleepy, leafy street of antique dealers on the luxurious fashion map when he opened his store there in 2005, resulting in the arrival of Bottega Veneta, Balmain, Chloé, Oscar de la Renta, Marni, Golden Goose and plenty of more on what’s develop into certainly one of L.A.’s toniest industrial thoroughfares. Balmain Moves to London’s Mount Street, Near Simone Rocha

Courtesy MOUNT BALMAIN: Balmain has moved its London store, however it hasn’t gone far. The brand, which opened a flagship on South Audley Street in 2015, has moved across the corner to 94 Mount Street, with neighbors including Simone Rocha and Marni. Balmain’s recent, 1,077-square-foot store houses the ladies’s, men’s and accessories collections, and there's also a personal suite for VIP appointments. The shop soft launched earlier in March, with creative director Olivier Rousteing officially cutting the ribbon this week with a cocktail for patrons and a small, private dinner for friends and collaborators.
