Recent York Fashion Week is on the horizon. The annual industry event officially kicks off on Friday and can run through Sept. 13. This season’s slate of shows guarantees the primary collection from Helmut Lang’s latest creative director Peter Do, and returning fashion favorites Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch and Ralph Lauren, amongst others.
While runway shows and major after parties are sometimes reserved for members of the style industry, many brands hold activations and pop-up events open to the general public, celebrating NYFW. Here, WWD has rounded up an inventory of public events for those hoping to have fun Fashion Week.

Iris van Herpen thrives off concepts that involve 3D printing, architecture and recent ideas of beauty. She’s put models in twisted silver face jewellery, and space-age eyeliner, and topped their heads off with futuristic crowns. In other words, she’s not your typical dressmaker – and he or she definitely doesn’t approach beauty in a traditional way. As an alternative, she reinterprets the concept of what beauty is, together with re-examining the feminine form.
