Casablanca Raises Recent Funds, Names Frederick Lukoff CEO
LONDON — Following a fresh round of investment, Casablanca has named the longtime fashion and luxury executive Frederick Lukoff chief executive officer to work alongside founder and inventive director Charaf Tajer. An announcement is anticipated Monday. Lukoff was most recently head of Scotch & Soda, the Amsterdam-based fashion brand, and before that served as president and CEO of Stella McCartney for a decade when the corporate was part-owned by Kering. Prior to Stella McCartney, Lukoff held senior roles at Lanvin; Paco Rabanne, and Courrèges. Need a piece of Karl Lagerfeld for the dinner table? How about 24 pieces? Lagerfeld was a longtime collector of Christofle, the silver specialists, as evidenced by quite a few pieces featured in his estate sales at Sotheby’s in 2021. In 2018, shortly before his death, the designer had collaborated with Christofle on the brand’s signature Mood silverware set, imbuing the distinctive egg-shaped case and flatware with a graphic, Art Deco-inspired pattern rendered in mirror-polished silver and glossy black lacquer. Just one,500 pieces were created — 1,000 with a stainless-steel case and just 500 in black lacquer — and all sold out upon their release. Rooftop Soiree Raises Funds in Support of LIM Students
On the rooftop of a Manhattan residential constructing Wednesday evening, it was all about cocktails, industry chatter and, most significantly, showing support for the LIM Fashion Education Foundation. Retail and fashion executives and school and students from LIM turned out for the event where Jennifer Foyle, president and executive creative officer of American Eagle and Aerie, and Michele Parsons, the chief merchandising officer of Kate Spade, were presented with LIM’s inaugural “Fashion Forward” awards. The evening raised greater than $60,000, drew about 100 supporters and likewise celebrated LIM FEF’s forty fifth anniversary.
