Taraji P. Henson Launches Wellness Pods at HBCU Campuses
The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, founded by actress Taraji P. Henson, and Kate Spade Recent York have teamed to bring wellness pods to HBCU campuses, serving greater than 25,000 Black women nationwide. The inspiration, which is known as after Henson’s father who struggled along with his mental health with none resources, was founded in 2018 to destigmatize the topic and supply services to Black communities. Starting with Alabama State University, the 2 organizations will roll out the She Care Wellness Pods, that are physical structures that can offer a slew of mental health resources, including virtual and in-person therapy sessions; psychoeducation sessions, and yoga, art, sound and dance therapy workshops, in addition to a spot for college kids to rest....

America’s Richest Black Man Robert F. Smith, Stackwell, and
The common college student spends about $2,270 per 30 days on living expenses. Unfortunately, between the demand of coursework, extracurriculars and social activity, there’s little time left for a lot of young adults to carve out working time. Student Freedom Initiative (SFI), Stackwell, and Prudential Financial have partnered to fill that income gap. In a news release, the launch of the Student Investment Program (SIP), a multi-year strategic partnership granting $500,000 in funding for HBCU students, was announced. After Nearly 150 Years, HBCU Prairie View A&M Allows

Productions In 1968, the nation’s first African American studies major was developed at San Francisco State University after an uproarious outcry from students and school. 54 years later, historically Black university Prairie View A&M University is following suit.
