Kering-Valentino Deal Helps Reignite Luxury M&A Market
Dealmakers sleepwalked into 2023 — not able to commit with high inflation, high rates of interest and fears of recession conspiring to muddy the outlook for almost all the things. KPMG logged just 191 retail deals in the primary quarter, a 40 percent drop from the fourth quarter and a 99 percent plummet in total deal value after the nearly $25 billion supermarket merger between Kroger and Albertsons revealed in October.  But a funny thing happened because the world waited for recession.  The wealthy kept spending, the economic worries subsided some and the luxurious deal market woke up this summer — not progressively but .  The jolt of life got here from Kering, which snatched up the high-end fragrance house Creed for a reported...

Chanel also brought together Marion Cotillard, Sadie Sink, Lucy Boynton, stylist Jenke Ahmed Tailly and Big Bang rapper G-Dragon. Giant animals moved across the set, some with secret doors that models emerged from midshow, in sequined gowns, gold-flecked tweed and top hats, as if playing fashion magicians. Cotillard gamely stepped inside one in all the large animals to make a grand entrance for the camera. Just your average Tuesday morning during high fashion week. Swinton joked about her repute...

Mt. Everest Climber Helps Ukrainian Brand ‘Go Up!’
On the surface, One by One’s latest campaign featuring completed climber Irina Galay looks like one other wintry scene, but its completion required overcoming extreme circumstances. Galay, the primary Ukrainian female to summit Mt. Everest and K2, was recruited to headline the campaign as a way to motivate people to beat their personal peaks. Along with braving subzero temperatures in a snowy Ukrainian forest for the photo shoot, the creative team needed to drive just a few hours outside of Kyiv and go through Bucha and other cities that were decimated by the Russian forces. During a joint interview Thursday afternoon together with her boyfriend Yuri Bauer, who helped to translate a few of her responses, Galay said “the tragedy of...
