Meaningful Partners Invests $20M Into Allies of Skin

PARIS — Allies of Skin, the Singapore-based skincare brand, has raised $20 million from Meaningful Partners. The funds shall be used to speed up Allies of Skin’s U.S. push, online and offline, including more marketing, research and development, and team-building there. Nicolas Travis launched the science-led brand in 2016 with three products. The 1A All-Day Mask was the hero of the trio, which stemmed from Travis’ belief in double masking and combination treatments. L’Oréal Invests in Swiss Longevity Biotech Company Timeline

PARIS — L’Oréal has taken a minority stake in Swiss longevity biotech company Timeline. Terms of the deal, which was made through the wonder giant’s strategic enterprise capital fund Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development, weren't disclosed. Timeline was founded in 2007 by Chris Rinsch and Patrick Aebischer as a by-product of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. It develops solutions for longevity within the food, business and health categories. Stride Invests in Hair Care Brand Odele – WWD

After its partners made an early investment in Drybar, Stride is getting deeper into hair with Minneapolis-based hair care brand Odele. The private equity firm just made a minority investment in Odele — a phonetic riff off of the Norwegian phrase å dele, which suggests “to share.” The brand was launched in 2020 by Lindsay Holden, Britta Chatterjee and Shannon Kearney, who together bring experience in retail, marketing and manufacturing in each big-box stores and smaller firms, from General Mills and hair care company Renpure to Goal.  The road began with nine stock keeping units and a Goal partnership and since then, Odele has expanded to more products, in addition to CVS and Ulta Beauty. Iris Invests in Biomel, Maker of Plant-based Drinks for

LONDON — The wellness category is wooing consumers and investors alike, and Iris Ventures is the newest fund to place its money behind products aimed toward enhancing the mind and body. Iris, a growth equity fund targeting European and U.S. purpose-led, consumer-centric brands and tech-enabled solutions, has invested 5.5 million kilos in Biomel, a market-leading, plant-based gut health brand. Biomel, founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Steven Hegarty and Janett Lozano, produces a spread of drinks, snack bars and powders at its innovation and manufacturing facility in west London.
