La Perla Allegedly Didn’t Pay Italian Employees in August
MILAN — A month after resolving winding-up petitions filed by a pool of U.K.-based creditors, luxury lingerie brand La Perla has allegedly didn't pay its Italian staffers this month, based on a note issued by local trade unions. The Filctem-Cgil and Uiltec-Uil unions said in a joint statement that the corporate, now owned by German businessman Lars Windhorst’s private equity firm Tennor, and based in London, didn't pay wages to its Bologna, Italy-based employees this month. Thirty Italian Brands to Show at Miami’s Cabana Show
Italian brands are taking the U.S. market by storm this summer. The Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with Confindustria and Confindustria Moda, the principal association representing manufacturing and repair corporations in Italy, will likely be bringing 30 brands to the Cabana Show in Miami in early July as a part of a nationwide intiative called Inspr Italia. This follows the organization’s sizable presence on the Chicago Collective men’s show in February and the Los Angeles women’s market in March. After Miami, the Italian road show will move to the Dallas Men’s Market at the tip of July and back to Chicago the primary week in August. Italian Photographer Paolo Di Paolo Dies at 98
MILAN — The well-respected Italian photographer Paolo Di Paolo died Monday at age 98 in his hometown of Larino, within the country’s central region of Molise. His daughter Silvia confirmed that he “has arrived at the tip of his extraordinary life and left us this morning.” Further details on the explanation for death weren't disclosed. The municipality of Larino shared a commemorative message on Facebook defining him as a “maestro,” an illustrious citizen of the town and “a precious a part of the history of Italian photography.” The statement read that a farewell function might be hosted Tuesday morning at the town’s San Francesco church.
