Galeries Lafayette Forms Joint Enterprise With China’s Hopson Group

SHANGHAI — Galeries Lafayette, the French department store chain with three stores in China, is able to scale up with a three way partnership with Hong Kong-listed real estate operator Hopson Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Galeries Lafayette will open a complete of three recent stores this yr, in Shenzhen, Chongqing and Macau, with a goal of reaching 10 stores by 2025, it said in a press release on Thursday. French Department Store Galeries Lafayette Expands to India

PARIS — Famed French department store Galeries Lafayette is organising shop in India. The retailer will open its doors in Mumbai and Latest Delhi through an exclusive partnership agreement with local fashion group Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd., and can launch a dedicated website for the country. The 86,000-square-foot space within the southern city of Mumbai is scheduled to open in 2024. London-based architectural firm Virgile & Partners will helm the project, which might be housed inside two century-old buildings within the historic Fort district.
