Saint Laurent Said Headed to Neue Nationalgalerie for Berlin Show

MIES GENERATION: The Neue Nationalgalerie, a storied cultural and architectural landmark in Berlin, shall be the positioning of Saint Laurent’s men’s fashion show next month, sources told WWD. Saint Laurent Produced a Godard Short Premiering at Cannes

Fashion house Saint Laurent has produced a brief film exalting French movie maverick Jean-Luc Godard’s last work, and it should premiere on the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival later this month. Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello describes it because the “trailer of a movie that may never exist.” “Unconventional in its form, the short art project describes the ideas, references and visuals he envisioned for a movie that never got here to be, giving the viewer rare insight right into a genius’ mind and process,” based on Saint Laurent, which last month established a subsidiary dedicated to the full-fledged production of flicks. EXCLUSIVE: Saint Laurent Creates Film Production Subsidiary

Taking its penchant for film to a recent zenith, Saint Laurent has established a subsidiary dedicated to the full-fledged production of flicks, WWD has learned. Saint Laurent Productions will make its debut on the Cannes Film Festival next month with two shorts among the many official selection: “Strange Way of Life” by Pedro Almodóvar, and one other to be announced at a later date. The Kering-owned fashion home is billing itself as the primary to establish a registered subsidiary to supply movies, fairly than merely funding them — or dressing its stars.
