Balmain Moves to London’s Mount Street, Near Simone Rocha
Courtesy MOUNT BALMAIN: Balmain has moved its London store, however it hasn’t gone far. The brand, which opened a flagship on South Audley Street in 2015, has moved across the corner to 94 Mount Street, with neighbors including Simone Rocha and Marni. Balmain’s recent, 1,077-square-foot store houses the ladies’s, men’s and accessories collections, and there's also a personal suite for VIP appointments. The shop soft launched earlier in March, with creative director Olivier Rousteing officially cutting the ribbon this week with a cocktail for patrons and a small, private dinner for friends and collaborators. LONDON — The work and lifetime of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel will probably be on display on the Victoria & Albert museum on Sept. 16, on the museum’s Sainsbury Gallery. “Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto” will probably be the primary U.K. exhibition dedicated to the French clothier, charting six a long time of her profession, from the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910 to her final show in 1971.
