Myami Teams With Central Saint Martins on Digital Fashion Projects

LONDON — Myami, a Sydney-based digital fashion brand, has launched a collaboration with students at Central Saint Martins, enabling them to explore the connection between digital and physical fashion and the advantages it offers to luxury brands and consumers. Brad Morris, founding father of Myami, said greater than 40 students from various pathways — brand, strategy, image, editorial and content — got access to Myami’s pixel fabrics and technology roadmap to finish school projects which can be linked to their respective fields. “We hope to encourage and prepared the subsequent generation of fashion’s brightest talents in shaping a future where everyone can experience the transformative power of fashion in each its physical and digital form, wherever they select to look,” added Morris. The Central Saint Martins Graduate Making Victorian-inspired Leather Bonnets

LONDON — What would occur for those who interpret the softness of floral Victorian-inspired bonnets through the harshness of leather? Central Saint Martins textile designer Meg Dennis’ graduate collection explored exactly that, through a method she pioneered and termed “suede bonding technique,” which allowed her to transfer the feel of suede onto the grain side of leather.  “The most important focus for my final collection was seeing what qualities leather and only leather can create. Eden Tan Scores Top Honor at Central Saint Martins

LONDON — Central Saint Martins’ annual BA graduate show saw students pushing the boundaries of fashion with unique textiles, silhouettes and techniques. Held contained in the Granary Square campus in Kings Cross, the 134-graduate showcase actually lived as much as the style school’s popularity as “the world’s biggest factory for making trouble” as its current chancellor, Grayson Perry describes the varsity. Menswear designer Eden Tan took home the highest honor of the L’Oréal Professionnel Young Talent Award. His collection, titled “On Borrowed Fabric,” centers around sustainability, drawing on his hobby of tinkering to develop recent techniques.
