Joseph Altuzarra and Nordstrom Boost Seattle Art Museum Supporters’
Joseph Altuzarra headed to Seattle last week to support the annual Seattle Art Museum Supporters “Spring Into Art” event, in collaboration with Nordstrom. Altuzarra was this 12 months’s featured designer, and the May 18 evening concluded with a seated runway presentation of looks from his fall collection following a cocktail reception and tour of the Seattle Asian Art Museum. Guests included Anne Adams, Kat Osler, Sally Wright, Jennifer Roberts, and Lorna Kneeland, together with Nordstrom’s Gigi Ganatra and Ricki De Sole. Altuzarra also hosted a shopping event for SAMS members at Nordstrom’s flagship while on the town for the event. Nordstrom has supported the museum’s fundraising committee since 1985. Knowing that May can’t come soon enough for Karl Lagerfeld fans and Met Gala gawkers alike, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has shared more details about The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” will bow within the museum’s Tisch Galleries on May 5 and can run through July 16. Because the name suggests, the show will trace the aesthetic and conceptual themes that continually surfaced in his collections from the ’50s up until his death in 2019. Visitors are supposed to get a multidimensional understanding of the late designer’s complex creative process and collaborative relationships with “premières d’atelier,” the seamstresses who realized his creations. HAT-STORY: Borsalino Foundation and the City of Alessandria teamed up for a latest museum, which is able to value the heritage of the historic hatmaker. The exhibition is ready to open to visitors on Wednesday, while the official inauguration will happen a day earlier.
