“I once had a very strange request from someone asking if I could make a merkin for them from their dead dogs’ hair,” says Manchester-based hairpiece designer Crystal Stuart-Fawkes. “It freaked me out a bit and I never responded.” While dead dog hair may be the weirdest request she’s had, it’s on no account the one one which has pushed the boundaries of acceptable behaviour.
